MORE ABOUT ME
My name is Yuan Lu (陆原, Lu Yuan in Chinese). I am a machine learning researcher working on reinforcement learning, diffusion models, energy-based models and self-supervised learning. Overall my interest is in machine learning and statistics for optimal control and decision-making, as well as using these mathematical tools to understand how the brain learns. I have done several research internships at DeepMind, the artificial intelligence and machine learning group at Microsoft Research Asia, the UCL AI centre and the Experimental Psychology Department. I studied cinematography and filmmaking at the Beijing Film Academy before dropping out, I was also a semi-professional tennis player. In my free time I try my best to contribute to open-source projects such as JAX.
